Rexel UK Ltd are looking to appoint an IT Security Manager, a newly created position which will be the subject matter expert and single point of contact for all IT Security within Rexel UK with the direction from our Global Head Office in Paris.

This role will suit someone who has recently graduated or is looking for the next step up in their career.

Reporting into the Head of Technology, the IT Security Manager is responsible for managing risks related to information security, physical security, business continuity planning, crisis management, privacy, and compliance.

The Role:

As an IT Security Manager for Rexel, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Ensure and monitor security compliance with Rexel group, industry and government rules and regulations
  • Ensure that Rexel is compliant with Cyber Security Essentials as a minimum and follow National Cyber Security Centre best practice.
  • Coordinate with technology and business groups to assess, implement, and monitor IT related security risks/hazards
  • Ensure security provision complies and meets all service level agreement requirements
  • Report security performance against established security metrics
  • Develop and implement security standards, processes and procedures, and guidelines for Rexel and ensure these are communicated and staff receive appropriate training. Liaise with L&D in delivery of training and use of the Rexel Academy and other tools
  • Understands “voice of the customer” and develop mechanisms to proactively sense adoption and usage patterns of consumer technologies by end users so that security is seen as integral to customer usage
  • Ensure security by design within all projects
  • Ensure that the architecture meets security standards including GDPR and PCI
  • Responsible for secure management of data in all environments to comply with GDPR
  • Responsible for creating and managing the budget for IT security provision
  • No people management. Management of third-party suppliers & matrix mgt will be required as well as working closely with Network, End User and Infrastructure teams internally
  • Work activities as defined by SFIA Level 5 Information Security



The Person:

As an IT Security Manager for Rexel, you will need:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform well in high pressure dynamic changing environments
  • Experience of communication in all areas of an organisation in security concepts
  • Experience in working in or managing IT security for a commercial entity
  • Understanding of national and international regulatory compliances and frameworks such as ISO, SOX, BASEL II, EU DPD, HIPAA, and PCI DSS, GDPR
  • Rexel is a member of the British Computer Society (BCS) and uses the SFIA framework to assess skills level. This role is assessed as a SFIA Level 5 in Information Security. Details provided below. In addition, the role holder will be expected to create the information security policy for Rexel in liaison with Rexel Group
