We are seeking a Distribution Center/ Customer Solutions Center Manager to join our Rexel team at our Denver, CO distribution center!

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Effectively lead a team of supervisors and diverse warehouse associates and activities, including setting priorities and metrics, recruiting, hiring, terminating, reviewing performance and routinely coaching employees. Candidate should have a background of effectively handing employee motivation and discipline.
  • Foster a culture and environment focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment. Assume responsibility for the overall safety of personnel, company assets, and the surrounding environment.
  • Implement business strategies set forth by senior management and participate in improving the business by administering and evaluating short and long term objectives for warehouse as well as offering potential alternatives to existing methods. 
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain Management team to improve and create plans that will reduce inventory holding costs while increasing inventory availability to meet first time fill rate goals.    
  • Engage and lead associates in Rexel’s continuous improvement efforts.  Seek associate feedback on process improvement, pilot new ideas and measure impact, routinely monitor the flow of work in process across multiple shifts.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy with and through a disciplined cycle count process along with physical inventory counting and recording if required.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT and safety legislation and related company policy by ensuring proper training, maintaining warehouse vehicles and equipment, verifying employee driver's licenses and permits are current and maintained. Also insuring compliance with dedicated private delivery fleet of trucks.
  • Develop Distribution Center budget and routinely analyze and control expenditures to meet budget requirements.
  • Serve as Primary contact between Distribution Center operation and business unit managers.  Routinely communicate with company personnel and customers on proactive Distribution Center activities as well as to resolve customer concerns or to expedite customer deliveries when necessary. 
  • Uphold standards around daily housekeeping, reflecting an image that is perceived in a very positive manner by customers.
  • Maintain facility and all associated assets through effective service provider selection, oversight and cost-of-service negotiations.

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Education Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 8 years of relevant work experience 
  • Minimum of 5 years direct management and leadership experience within a fast paced distribution environment managing an individual P&L
  • Must have the scheduling flexibility to oversee a 24/7 operation
  • Prior experience leading non-exempt workforce, maintaining flexibility in order to maintain regular contact with multiple employee shifts.
  • Ability to hold supervisors accountable and effectively delegate accountability to others
  • Ability to set metrics and drive goals with and thru the individual level to achieve results
  • A thorough knowledge of warehousing safety and security procedures, product slotting and profiling logic, and pick/pack/ship methods in a minimal convey environment is required.
  • Knowledge of wireless warehouse management technologies.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal and presentation skills are required.
  • Organization and time management skills, detail oriented, able to prioritize in a multi-tasking environment and ability to work under and adhere to specific deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving abilities.
