The position of Senior Retirement Plans Analyst will be based out of our Dallas, TX location!

 

Summary
The Senior Retirement Plans Analyst is responsible for the administration and management of the company's retirement plans. The role involves ensuring compliance with all federal and state laws, supporting plan design and benefit strategy recommendations, and serving as a subject matter expert on retirement plan provisions and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retirement plan administration, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead and oversee the administration of the company's retirement plans, including 401(k), 409(a), closed pension and other defined contribution and defined benefit plans
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including ERISA, IRS, and DOL requirements
  • Oversee compliance related activities which include helping to ensure existing policies/procedures are in compliance with plan documents and applicable law; stay up to date with industry trends and changes in retirement plan regulations to ensure the firm remains compliant and competitive
  • Conduct regular plan audits and coordinate with external auditors and consultants during retirement plan audits and assessments; interface with plan actuaries and other plan vendors and handle system-related issues
  • Evaluates financial and utilization metrics to analyze plan performance, including investment options, overall plan utilization and benchmarks, to make recommendations for improvements
  • Maintain relationships with plan vendors and service providers, ensuring that services are delivered effectively and efficiently
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the Human Resources team and other departments regarding retirement plan matters
  • Develop and maintain plan documentation, summary plan descriptions, and other communication materials for plan participants
  • Support the annual plan review process, including assisting in the preparation of executive summaries and presentations for senior management and the benefits oversight committee
  • Assist with the design and implementation of retirement plan changes or new plan offerings
  • Provide training and education to employees on retirement plan benefits and changes
  • Respond to complex inquiries and provide detailed explanations to plan participants regarding their benefits
  • Participate in special projects related to benefits strategy and retirement plan enhancements
  • Support Merger and Acquisition retirement plan integration
  • Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in retirement plan administration or related field
  • Recent experience with 401(k) plan administration and analysis required; previous experience in the areas of 409(a) and closed pension plan administration preferred
  • Previous experience with M&A integration a plus
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA), or similar certification preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of retirement plan regulations and compliance requirements including Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Department of Labor (DOL), Internal Revenue Code (IRC) guidelines
  • Proficient with retirement plan recordkeeping systems
  • Advanced Excel skills required with ability to analyze and manage large databases and advanced functions; strong proficiency in other Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; solid data analytical skills required
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the capability to interpret complex retirement plan data and communicate findings to managers and senior leaders
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines
