We are seeking an Inside Sales Representative to join our Platt team in Seattle, WA:



The Inside Sales Representative position is responsible for the inside/telephone sales and marketing efforts with the objective of increased profitable sales.


Essential Functions:

The individual must behave consistently with Platt’s Core Competencies, focus on safety, and comply with all company policies, procedures, and guidelines. Provide customer service and manage customer relationships. Identify customer needs and promote product and service solutions. Service each customer as effectively and efficiently as possible; execute sales plans, marketing programs, forecasts and tracking systems; prepare and submit quotations; enter purchase orders and arrange for RGA’s if necessary. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Reliable and regular attendance is required.


Other Duties and Responsibilities:

The individual is expected to promote teamwork; assist the counter sales, will call, and warehouse functions as needed. Occasionally travel to customer’s site. Work with inventory management to identify and maintain optimum product type and stocking levels; coordinate deliveries or special order handling when is needed. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

This position requires a minimum of one year of Platt branch experience or three years of similar industry experience. prioritize tasks, pay precise attention to detail, be sales and service oriented, self-motivated, and possesses excellent listening and customer service skills. The individual must have electrical product knowledge, negotiation and good analytical skills. The individual must be able to work independently and in a team environment. Must have experience with Microsoft Office and the Web. A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.

Mathematical Skills:

This position requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


Language Skills:

This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, product catalogs, safety manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; as well as the ability to communicate with customers easily and in a friendly manner.


Reasoning Ability:

This position requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; as well as the ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Certificates, Licenses, Registration:

This position requires a forklift certification. Forklift training will be provided by the company as needed.

Work Environment:

The work environment for this job is predominately a branch/warehouse type.
