We are seeking a Product Specialist -Datacom to join our Rexel team in Denver, CO:

Summary
The LV/DC Product Specialist position is responsible for helping drive the region strategy for this market segment and develop an organic growth plan primarily for Colorado and Wyoming utilizing our Customer Service Center, branch locations, sales resources and existing customer relationships.  You will help lead the efforts of defining and determining our product offering and vendor alignment as well as assisting with pricing activities.  Additional scope will include product training and certifications relative to manufacturer alignment and market requirements.  Identifying and scoping sales approach as it’s related to DIY or counter sales, commercial and industrial project solutions and systems design and assistance for project specifications.  Overall lead of expanding our offering in this space through specialized products to all customers, with the objective to increase profitable sales through creating, building, and maintaining high quality customer and vendor relationships.

 


Essential Duties & Responsibilities 
Develop overall LV/DC strategy for Colorado and Wyoming for immediate term as well as long term (5 year) growth trajectory.
Assist with developing and defining our offer plan with respective manufacturer’s (counters, projects and system solutions)
Demonstrates commercial and technical acumen related to assigned technology segment(s). Subject Matter Expert of assigned technology segment(s).
Leads and supports sales efforts with key targets, key customers and key opportunities in area/region 
Identifies customer needs, proposes solutions and closes orders 
Presents proposals to all levels of leadership and technical audiences 
Develops and maintains strong relationships with key suppliers 
Participates in product meetings, seminars and training schools to enhance and maintain personal and product knowledge 
Assist branches and customer with product, technical support and training 
May analyze market potential, develop an annual business plan based on market conditions and lead execution with local technical, sales and management team 
Other duties as assigned
Work with procurement team to insure proper inventory levels are maintained in stocking locations to maximize sales. 
Monitor competitive conditions in the territory and recommend changes as necessary to gain market share.

Education & Experience
High School Diploma/GED required
Bachelor’s Degree required for Automation roles
4+ years’ experience 
Product and application knowledge required
Electrical distribution industry or related experience required

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Ability to use sound judgment and problem solving skills to analyze customer problems and to recommend the proper course of action. Ability to organize and prioritize job projects and requirements.
