We are looking for a Tax Analyst for Rexel USA in Dallas, Texas.





Essential Responsibilities

  • Determine proper taxability of customers on an account and transaction basis including researching, verifying and approving all exemption certificates
  • Properly code and maintain customer tax exempt status in systems
  • Image and store sales tax certificates
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers concerning exemption certificates including corrections for incomplete or incorrect certificates
  • Effectively communicate sales and use tax laws to both internal and external customers through research and interpretation of state regulations. This includes providing supporting documentation to internal/external customer
  • Proactively interact with internal and external customers to reduce the amount of new disputes
  • Manage and prioritize customer disputes for assigned area to ensure efficient and accurate resolution in a timely manner and within service level expectations
  • Approve and process tax credits and tax billing invoices within authority levels and service level objectives
  • Assist customers on Tax Helpline and Tax email


Skills, Knowledge, and Education Required


  • Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work in a fast paced, high demand environment
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Demonstrated customer focused behavior such as building positive relationships
  • Understands customers’ needs, both internal and external
  • Ability to deal with difficult situations in a diplomatic and professional manner
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem solving skills with the ability to make recommendations, based on investigation and judgment, as well as an ability to discern when to escalate issues
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, ability to adjust communication based on customer situation
  • Active Listening – give full attention to the words and body language of others, take time to understand the points being made and ask questions as appropriate
  • Time Management – ability to prioritize workload and manage one’s own time
  • A positive approach and willingness to learn coupled with the ability to work in a team environment


Skills, Knowledge, and Education Preferred


  • Prior sales tax experience a plus
