As a Network Engineer, you will:

 

Support, maintain, and upgrade our Network and IT Security Platforms. You'll configure network equipment like switches, routers, IoT devices, and access points for remote deployment and management, and maintain our cloud networks and portals for internet access. Your role includes ensuring all network links across Rexel UK are operational, and conducting performance and security analysis.

You'll use network management systems and analysis tools to collect data, model performance, and create reports with improvement proposals. Managing network alerting and reporting tools will be part of your routine, ensuring they stay updated as our network evolves. You'll liaise with suppliers and infrastructure teams on technical matters, draft and maintain support procedures and documentation, and handle third-party service provider incident management tickets, including escalations.

Your project management skills will help meet network and security requirements for branch relocations, new sites, and closures. You'll assist in producing system designs and specifications, covering objectives, scope, reliability, and security. Plus, you'll take on other duties as needed and stay up-to-date with Cloud networking technologies like Microsoft Azure.

Skills set for success:

 

You will already be experienced in networking and may already be CCNA trained or certified. You ideally have experience in installing and supporting WAN, LAN, and Wifi technologies, as well as VoIP technologies. Additionally, you should be confident with managing third-party service provider support tickets and have knowledge of web proxy solutions such as Cisco Umbrella.
