Renewable Specialist

As a Solar & Renewables subject matter expert, you are the key connection between allocated customers, new customers and your assigned branch operational team, using your experience, technical knowledge and specific expertise to ensure the achievement of EV and renewable sales and gross profit budget. 

 

The purpose of your role will be to contribute towards enhancing branch performance by being the subject matter expect in everything EV/ Renewables and driving the sales strategy through effective customer relationships, as well as full, area, account management across 16 locations and working closely, and reporting into, the Area manager and Area sales manager directly.

 

The Role:

As a Renewables Specialist for Rexel, your main responsibilities will be to:

 

 

  • Establish, develop and maintain credible relationships with Customers and Suppliers
  • Implement a sales plan in order to provide effective and tailored account management for both allocated and prospect accounts
  • Monitor your allocated accounts to ensure effective performance and growth
  • Ensure achievement of all relevant Key Performance Indicators, targets and objectives
  • Identify and action appropriate steps to rectify any shortfalls
  • Increase revenue opportunities by offering variety of service provisions such as: Digital or project business
  • Completion and utilisation of customer reporting system (Vecta) to enable effective analysis of activity and understand ledger performance
  • Maintain completion of systems to provide required reports, information and feedback, in agreed formats and within timeframes set
  • Formulate a tactical business plan for each nominated renewable account that supports the area and company renewable strategy, whilst ensuring both personal sales and profit targets are exceeded.
  • Provide full customer account management for nominated renewable accounts, to include implementation of the development plan, customer/supplier joint agreements, financial management and the negotiation of profitable customer commercial agreements.
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with local Area manager, Sales Managers and their teams to ensure all allocated accounts are serviced professionally and all targets are achieved.
  • Provide management with required reports, information and weekly feedback to contribute to the effective strategic planning, budgeting and performance management of the business in agreed formats and within agreed time scales.
  • Generate profitable sales growth for a portfolio of accounts to achieve set targets.
  • Identify, create and maximise opportunities within accounts to obtain a larger share of the customer wallet.
  • Generate new business in line with set targets.
  • Build and maintain relationships through customer interaction (within corporate governance guidelines
    • Use the company CRM system (Vecta) to log all activity, produce sales information and identify sales opportunities within the portfolio of customers.
    • Interact and coordinate with the internal sales teams and other staff members in other departments to ensure the customer receives the required standard of service.
    • To keep aware of trends and opportunities in the marketplace – including the activities of competitors.
    • Identify new business opportunities
    • To promote products and brands that meet the Company’s commercial objectives - For example own brand and selected supplier brands.
    • To manage designated territory and portfolio of customers in an efficient manner.
    • Manage all aspects of the customer including account queries, Pricing, Rebates, Settlement and credit limits reviews
    • Manage & Co-ordinate projects in close co-operation with Customer, Branch and suppliers.
    • Drive multichannel adoption

 

The Person:

As a Renewables Specialist for Rexel, you will need:

 

  • Specific technical, specialised or professional knowledge needed
  • In-depth knowledge of the strategic and operational side of the business in a customer
  • focused multi location operation.   Excellent financial and commercial awareness with a clear understanding of all aspects of the balance sheet, budgets, cost/benefit
  • analysis etc.  
  • Excellent customer centricity with a customer service background
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced role, whilst maintaining a consistent eye for detail
  • Solid technical understanding of business processes
  • Understanding of complex business environments in both commercial and operational capacity
  • Technical understanding of product sector
  • A flexible approach and an ability to work under pressure
  • An ability to embrace change and new technologies
  • Experience of working within a sales / target driven role (ideally)
  • Experience within the EV sector is essential
  • Previous experience of managing and developing Key Accounts, preferably within a B2B/Wholesale environment.
  • Proven sales experience with the ability to prospect, qualify and close new business.
  • Extensive knowledge of sales processes and techniques.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Stakeholder management.
  • Engagement in commercial negotiation
