Fleet Engineer

To provide specialist input to the maintenance, repair and up time availability across Rexel’s cars Vans and HG Fleet, ensuring the 1000+ fleet are safe, efficient, legal and well maintained.

 

The Role:

As a Fleet Engineer for Rexel, your main responsibilities will be to:

 

  • Maintain the Health and Safety of the fleet.  
  • Maintain a legally compliant fleet  in line with our operator’s licence.  
  • Help ensure vehicle down time is kept to a minimum through supplier and operator reviews.  
  • Monitor and challenge service maintenance and repairs and costs.  
  • Ensure Suppliers adhere to the terms of contracts and SLA and are reviewed periodically.  
  • Ensure Mot pass rates are achieved through our suppliers and partners performance.  
  • Support the Head of Fleet, engage operational teams increasing knowledge and accountability of vehicle damage and maintenance costs.  
  • Support the business with technical Road traffic collision information.  
  • Support Operations and Head of fleet with Road collision investigations.  
  • Drive a Continuous improvement model.  
  • UK coverage of hubs and branches therefore travel and nights away will be required. 

 

The Person:

As a Fleet Engineer for Rexel, you will need:

 

  • Experience of managing HGV and LCV, and Car SMR contracts and supplier  
  • Understanding of BVRLA guidelines and standard repair times  
  • Experience of presenting data and performing analysis  
  • Fors practitioner experience (an advantage) 
  • Road collision investigation  
  • BVRLA understanding.  
  • Supplier negotiations  
  • Vehicle engineering / mechanical understanding  
  • CLASS 1 (advantageous
